Moggies is a Bay of Plenty Cat Rescue making a difference for our local cats and kittens through adoption, advocacy and community support.
The Rescue is 100% volunteer based, and made up of a network of foster homes in Pukehina, Paengaroa, Te Puke, Papamoa, Mount Maunganui and various suburbs of Tauranga.
Our goal is to rescue, rehabilitate, and thoughtfully match each cat with a home where they can flourish for life.
Alongside this rescue work, we're food bank partners, and offer community support for local pet parents.
Where are you based?
We don't have a facility, but are made up of a network of foster homes in the Bay of Plenty area. Our main donation points are the local Animates stores, and our partner vet clinics.

Can you rehome my cat?
Our focus is on cats who are abandoned, vulnerable or in need of rescue, so with limited foster space, we’re best placed to support you through the rehoming process rather than take your cat directly into care. Please start with our rehoming guide, and reach out if you have any questions along the way.

Is there a cost?
We ask an adoption fee to help offset the costs of vet work and daily care.
There is no cost to surrender an animal.
Can you help with vet care?
In rescue situations we're able to offer subsidised desexing. If financial stress is preventing an animal from receiving care, please contact us.
